Wolfgang's Vault - The Who Memorabilia

Indiana Airwaves© was created while I was on vacation in May of 2006. Many had told me they wished there was a timely, daily or even weekly informational site about Indiana broadcasting. Some told me they were looking for something that was available on a regular, less sporadic basis than what other sites carried. Some were looking for more FCC information and more TV information. Others told me they wanted more than just the coming and going of radio people job wise. We have tried to give you what you have wanted, free of charge for these past years. While there are days that there is no major news to report, we are in contact with many stations on a weekly basis. We have never asked you to pay for our work and never will.

Your Editor has spent over 33 years in radio, 17 in one market alone. From ownership to sales, from programming to on air, I have done it all. With over 8,450+ aired shows so far, we continue to entertain heading towards completing our 4th decade of radio. I have programmed many stations that have went from worst to first, and can also tell you many horror stories of people who know how to mess up radio. I am a 3rd generation broadcaster, as my Grandfather was a 1st Class ticket holder, and my Father was in radio and TV and also ran an ad agency. I have built my own low watt AM transmitter, and have also built several studios from the ground up. I have put on 2 AM stations, one on the expanded band. From climbing to the top of the tower to re-lamp it, to squeezing in dark basement crawlspaces to run cable, I’ve been there and in between. I’ve seen stations come and go, and tapes, records, carts, cassettes, mini-discs and CDs all take their place in the studio. From Magnacords to digital systems, and between, it has been a great ride.

Thanks for stopping by Indiana Airwaves. I hope you will tell others about this site. - Mike Shannon
